I would go with 128GB version. Once you start storing photos and videos, memory will be used up fairly quickly. With the larger capacity you would not have to worry about what to delete to free up room.

Since you said they plan to take pictures, load games, and load movies for trips my thinking is it would be better to get the model with more internal storage. The 128 GB is four times the space of the base model's 32 GB. Hope the grandkids enjoy it!
