You can set it to update on its own automatically, or to notify you when a new update has been released and then you can update it manually. That's what I recommend. Apple updates can be problematic so let other people download it right away. You wait a week or two to see if there are any bugs in the update. You can just Google the update version to read online the reviews of each new update.
