you have to activate the phone when purchasing it from best buy and once you turn on the phone it will be locked tmobile. T-mobile’s unlock policy is you have to have active service with them for 40 days before requesting unlock. In my personal experience though, i requested them to unlock it because i was going out of the country and they reviewed my account and did it for me in 72 hours. it’s not guaranteed because of their policy but you can try. once it’s unlocked you can you it anywhere.
