“I am grandfathered in to my Verizon Unlimited plan and don't want to lose that. Can I make payments for this phone and buy it with out making any changes to my plan?”

While Verizon now offers a new unlimited plan, if you want to keep the old one, my experience ( I also had the old unlimited plan) was you have to pay for the phone in full. Any monthly plan seemed to trigger a new contract.
