This is something you will run into with most phones on a carrier... Generally, they will discount the phone by a little if you purchase it on the 24 month plan, because they are banking on most customers staying with them for the full two years, which works out better for them in the long run, versus buying it outright, which then allows you to take it to any carrier.

U pay the tax up front one the plan. That's y buying looks like it's more but u just see the added tax.
