I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking, but I’ve been with AT&T for years. With their “Next” plan, you can upgrade your device anytime, breaking up the payments of the new device into 24-30 monthly installments, with no interest. There will still usually be an activation fee, but your existing AT&T calling/texting/data plan won’t change unless you change it. The only “contract” involved is you paying the monthly installments on the phone itself, which are added to your monthly cell phone bill. When you upgrade again, if your phone hasn’t yet been paid off, you would have to pay whatever balance is remaining on it in order to get a new phone. Hope that helps.
