Sienna, You would have to pay the tax on the phone upon purchasing the phone in the store. If the XR is around $500, then it would be whatever your state tax rate is times that amount. Anything else like a protective cover or screen protector or Apple-Care of course would be additional. Good luck, StevieBoy
