I use this adapter with an hdmi cable (hdmi both ends) for my projector at work.

This is why I bought this. I use it with an epson projector and Bose sound bar/sub system that is Bluetooth. You will have to have an hdmi wire, this part does not plug directly into device. I use a non apple hdmi (amazingly) with no consequence. This also works with projector and Nune bass Bluetooth speaker as well as with a Samsung tv.
