Yes you can, bust the quality of the image will depend on the monitor. If you are doing high quality video editing you want to make sure it is capable with high resolution or you end product with design may look different than your monitor. Mac's mode to add warmth and coolness to your monitors depending on the time of day can really through you off, because your digital product appears different to you then it's final form. But that is an option you can turn off.
