This product will absolutely handle what you are asking. I wouldn't buy it if that was the MAIN thing I was going to use if for, as it gets hot when performing intense tasks. If you're going to be editing video every day, I would move to the MacBook Pro. For the occasional family movie, the MacBook Air will be just fine. I bought this as a second/travel laptop a few weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. MacOS is amazing, the system is very fast, and the new keyboard is an absolute dream to type on. Nothing else I've tried even comes close.

We bought the upgrade for our last one - 512 SSD and I-5. I would highly suggest that AND a RAM upgrade to 16gb. You'll be editing like a champ!
