“Does the Air take a usb port connection -- would probably need to get an extension for connecting a bigger screen, etc. for some work. Someone told me the back of air is different than the USB port connection I am used to with older macs. Thanks”

No USB on the MacBook Air - assume you can get an adapter. My older (7 years older) Air has that connection, so, I can use it if needed. Was surprised by the new Air connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need to get a Kingston Nucleum Hub, Unfortunately it's not sold by Best Buy. I have the exact same MacBook. All the other hubs I have get hot, this one does not. Use the HDMI port for a display, and the other ports on this hub for USB connections.
