• Yes it is actually universal, I have both a gaming windows computer and a mac and the mouse works with both operating systems as long as it supports bluetooth it should work.

• No, the mouse is recognized by the MacBook Air by connecting it to the computer with the Apple connectors to charge and be accepted then setup by the computer. It is not a universal mouse.
