Does it work with older models like the iPhone 8+? null

Sadly the older iPhone models do not have support for the MagSafe technology. As of right now, only the iPhone 12 series of phones have support for MagSafe.

The iPhone 8 does not have a magnet, so the magsafe alignment will definitely not work on older models. I am not able to test it, but I assume the wireless charging will work on any iphone that supports wireless charging, if you get it lined up properly. But it is also more expensive than other standard wireless chargers, so if you don't have iphone 12 you are probably better off with a cheaper charger.
