• I’ve experienced this only when something metal was against the charge puck, OR when I used a random TYPE C charger. I’d strongly suggest getting a wall brick from either Apple or Anker. If your problem persists or if you already have a charger like that. I feel like you have a broken unit, I have 3 and they never get hot unless charging.
