• You can purchase the cellular one, but Bluetooth works great within a range of your phone. The range is longer than I thought it would work.

• Cell service is not necessary other than your iPhone that it syncs with. All functions work through said iPhone. Obviously if your cell phone is not within Bluetooth range many functions pause on watch until you are within range.
