if you choose the Verizon option then your watch will have a contract/service with Verizon. you will be able to pay for it in installments, but also means you are tied to Verizon for the length of the installments. if you get the GPS+cellular (unlocked) you pay BB however you want. and are not required to have a cell plan on the watch. you just have a cell capable watch but without a cell plan.
