• Only through the GPS plus Cellular can you add cellular service. That’s why they made these two versions of the watch & that’s why the one with cellular service is more expensive.

• No, if you buy the GPS only apple watch there is no way to connect it to a carrier via cellular in the future. Only the GPS + cellular version of the Apple watch has the hardware to connect directly to a carrier without an iPhone.
