If you purchase the cellular version, you can make phone calls and stream music direct from the watch, without your phone nearby. The price for the watch with cellular is generally $100 more and you have to pay to put cellular service on the watch so you can do this. Generally this costs about $10 per month through your mobile phone's cellular service carrier (Verizon, ATT, TMobile, etc.). The features of the watch (including GPS) work without putting cellular service on it if you don't want to. You just can't make phone calls or stream from the watch independent from your phone without adding the service plan for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cellular means that you have the option to add it to your cell phone plan and use it independently of your phone. For example, if you’re out for a run and don’t want to carry your phone with you, you can still make calls and send texts if the watch is connected to your phone plan. Without connecting it to your plan, you still have to have your phone near you and connected to Bluetooth to send texts and make calls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you get the more expensive cellular version you have to pay for a cell line. If you get the cheaper (in price only) bluetooth version you can piggyback off your phone. Your phone has to be within 33 feet though
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you purchase the watch with cell capabilities and want to use it as a stand alone phone, yes you need another phone line. If you already have an iPhone, save the money and don’t get the one with cellular. The standard watch will sync with your current iPhone and use its cell service and number. All the features will still work fine through your iPhone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The watch will work like a cell phone when paired with your cell device. You have to take your phone wherever you go. If you get the watch with cellular then your phone doesn’t need to go with you but you’d have to pay extra for service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When purchasing an Apple watch, if you don't wan't the cellular version, ask for the wifi version. You can still make calls from it but you will need to have your phone nearby. And you will save $50 if i'm correct :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need an extra cellphone plan to use the phone but you do need to have a cellphone for the watch to synch with. Yes, it will automatically synch with your wifi/cellphone hotspots as needed. It does this seamlessly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Two versions of the Apple Watch: One, works only with WiFi/Bluetooth. The other, has a cellular connection. If you get the WiFi/Bluetooth version, it will work as a watch and fitness tracker. Other functions, such as walkie talkie, phone, messages, email, etc. require that your iPhone be close by. With this version, you do not need to contract for a cellular connection. If you get the cellular version, it will operate over a cell network without the phone being close by, but you have the monthly expense for the cellular connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The new Apple Watch with Cellular can work as a phone, independently of the iPhone. Yes, you will have to add it to your wireless phone plane in order to use the cellular features. Otherwise, it works just like the older Apple Watches. Can't comment with certainty on the other two questions, but it is my understand ing that you cannot use the cellular feature with out a phone line on your account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cellular means that the watch will connect to a cell service with a line of service added to your phone plan. You should be able to connect your watch to a phone simply with Bluetooth.
