In order to enable the AT&T option ($10/month) you have to purchase the cellular feature on the watch. This allows you to use the watch without the phone for calls. The watch will work as a stand alone device IF you purchase the cellular option and then add it to your AT&T service plan for the additional $10/month. Hope that helps! Additionally, you don't HAVE to enable with AT&T. I purchased the watch with the cellular feature, but haven't enabled with AT&T, as I typically have the phone with me and the watch on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cellular part just says you can activate that option with your carrier. In the case of AT&T, they’ll activate the option which adds $10 to your monthly bill. But, you’ll have data and be able to accept calls and text on your watch. Even if your phone is not with you. I currently have that option. I leave my phone at home when I go out to ride my bike or run. Really convenient not to have to lug my phone around. If you don’t need that feature or added bill. Just get the gps. But you will always need your phone to be with you (or close by) to access data, calls and text.
