• A:Answer Sand, the standard Apple watch ihas GPS, it can track you and provide your position anywhere on Earth. The Other configuration has cellular service + GPS. Depending on how you want to pay for the watch would determine if you want it unlocked. I discovered that all the major carriers will not let you purchase the phone out right. All of their pricing is based on a monthly cost over 30 months. Do the math at it cost more than the Apple retail price. I typically, buy my phone out right. The carriers also tack on a $30-$50 set up fee plus taxes. You and I know an unlocked phone just need a SIM card to work with any carrier that you choose.
