Apple Watch is water resistant up to 50 meters, Apple Watch Series 6 is designed with swimmers in mind.

No, I have showered with mine many times and it's been fine. The fine print says not to because they don't know what kind of chemicals and/or water pressure you use and want to make sure you don't destroy it. Personally, I have never had any issues swimming or showering with mine.
