• No, I bought this watch separately, not on a contract with one of the cellular services. It can and does function perfectly without them.

• I bought the watch and didnt have to make any changes to my ATT plan. I am able to make calls on this watch and I was able to even talk through the watch when the phone was near by but not with me.

• You would need to have a new active line (phone number) assigned to your watch in order to use the cellular side of it. If you don't want to do that, you can get the GPS only model.
