The gauge of the wire running from the transformer to the doorbell may not be able to power the unit. Even with the correct specs on the transformer (16-24v), whoever installed the doorbell may have skimped on the actual wiring. That is why our Arlo video doorbell didn’t work. Would need to rewire the doorbell for the required current draw, basically bigger gauge wire.
