This is my first security camera purchase. Looking to video horse in stall. What do I need to purchase? Can I get the Arlo 3 ("add on camera" altho that may be a clue I need more!) or do I need to purchase a base system? What else do i need to get? null

If you have internet and wifi service at the location where you plan to mount the camera, then any of the Arlo Essential camera series or the Arlo Pro 4 would be a good option for you. These camera models do not require an Arlo base station for them to work as they connect through wifi. If you are looking to get a camera that uses cellular service to get internet, we suggest to check Arlo Go camera. ^RM

Base system, if you want to store the feeds you get as videos. No base if you just want to monitor and receive notifications when there is motion etc.

You will need the system . The base and camera. Pro 3 will do adequate work. Arlo customer support is a different question.
