“if you have the external power cord connected to the camera will it charge the battery ? if I connect power cord to house light that is on at night only will the camera run off battery during day and power cord at night to extend battery life?”

If its direct plug it will always be charging and of course running of the battery but battery remains charged because it’s plugged in
