Check if mediacom uses docsis as long as it’s docsis technology this device will work it uses 3.1 and 3.0 and also backwards compatible to run docsis 2.0 and older if there is cable systems still running that outdated technology in their signal telemetry. This is the tech Comcast/xfinity uses that is why it’s stamped on the box but any docsis system should work please confirm with your provider first they can look up the device model number and give you peace of mind before purchasing. Also most providers should have a website link for compatible third party devices that works with their services.
