Okraku, if you have COMCAST's phone service you must use a modem that can filter voice calls; this DOCIS Modem does not perform that function. There are modems that you can purchase that can do this for you; just go google COMCAST approved modems and try to find your selection on Amazon, Wayfair, E-bay, etc.... Or if you really do not need the phone/voice service of a land line; stop paying for it and just get the COMCAST DOUBLEPLAY and rely on your cell phone only....or get installed a less expensive line by a local company ugh like ATT, VERIZON, etc..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.any docsis3.0 compatible modems should work with comcast. i just bought the arris surfboard, it really works very good better than the one the comcast gives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will definitely need a cable modem. However, if you're looking for a modem that also contains the ability to connect your land-line phone for use as an Internet phone service in the same box, then this is not the device. You can use this cable modem if you have an Internet "phone bridge" device. If not, then Ooma (search Best Buy website) is an excellent solution. I've had their service for almost 8 years and have been very pleased. There's an initial cost up front, but in the long run, it pays for itself with the money you don't spend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had Comcast Internet/voice modem and I purchased this Motorola modem from Best Buy and then I purchased a magic jack for my home phone and had my phone number ported from Comcast to my new magic jack and it works great. Still considerably cheaper each month and no $10 monthly lease fee from Comcast for their modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, works fine with Comcast
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Comcast and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this modem for this very reason, Comcast gave me no problems and it has maintained a steady connection although if you still use their router I would suggest upgrading that as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have phone service through Comcast, this is not your modem. No phone support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a similar issue when I moved into my new apartment. I would recommend to you that you call Comcast directly and asked that question. What I have learned is that even if a device will work for a certain company, sometimes they will not let you use certain devices. Which I think is a total money thing, but before you spend your money on buying the product, you definitely should call the company directly and tell them exactly which modem you intend to buy. If your modem is compatible with Comcast service, in my experience, I have learned that it is better to own your modem than to rent someone else's modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are no modems that you can buy that will bring the Comcast voice through it. This is Comcadt proprietary. However, you can add a VOIP converter & get a number from Google Voice for free & create your own home phone with no monthly charge for all calls in the USA. Google VOIP converter & buy it from Best Buy.
