• Consumers can only purchase it in white. Some cable companies have black models you can rent.

• White appears to be the only color available from ARRIS after they witched from the Motorola branding.

• My local cable company told me that the white model is brand new and the black one is refurbished.

• As far as I know, the black ones are OEM only meaning supplied by the cable company. Retail ones are white.

• I can't say for 100% for certain, but it's the only color I have ever seen it in and I did a lot of research.
