SB8200 is compatible to work with gigabit speed tiers, please make sure that your Wi-Fi router is also has sufficient bandwidth capacity to provide you the expected internet speeds.

No, I had to replace my r700p to get the internet speeds to be consistent. A factory reset on the netgear forums show it's a temporary fix. You can try netgear customer service, they may have a fix but my r7000p capped at 197mb/s (wired) regardless of the modem I was using.
