Yes. Don’t worry about all these reviews for the Xbox that are negative. This works for the original Xbox all the way up to the series X. You HAVE to update the firmware on the website, after that everything will work fine. For the original Xbox and yours, you can use optical cable. For the newer systems, you have to use usb. It all works fine.
