No, the Chromebook does not have an optical drive.

Dear Fred; Sorry, not going to happen. This one doesn't have a CD player in it. Most CD players in notebooks are disappearing. It's a generational change, they say. If this machine has a USB port, you could plug in an external CD player to do tunes and movies. Then again, it's hard to say if this model can handle all that. It's purposes are for basic Internet, email, and Internet surfing. Hope that helps.
