It is not an answer, but specific question, based on your unfortunate experience - I also failed to find specific information about the exact characteristics of the drives inside. I want to upgrade, but don't know what to buy. One option is to upgrade with normal SATA drives on both places. Are both drive slots identical? Is there physical place to install normal SATA SSD on the 128Gb place? Other option is to try to upgrade with M2 on both places - But, can I install NVMe M2 SSD in both drive 1 and drive 2? Thanks a lot!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This question was originally submitted by ME. Based on the answer I purchased a M.2 2280 compatible external enclosure. My intent was to clone the drive to a larger M.2 2280 SSD and then use the new, larger drive in the laptop. Once that was done I would be able to use the original drive in the external enclosure as a 128GB portable drive. However, the answer to this question is WRONG. The drive from the laptop won't work in my new enclosure. I looked online for the specs of the drive I had removed and it is clearly a SATA drive. Thanks for NOTHING. I now have a totally freaking useless drive enclosure that I paid for based solely on the information provided here in answer to my original question. This is REALLY POOR service. My only option now is to purchase another, more expensive enclosure that will work with my new drive and also with the one shipped in the laptop. I am really NOT HAPPY. I've attached a picture of the drive that shipped in the laptop. Google the specs. It is SATA - NOT M.2 2280.
