The RT-AC3100 is essentially the same hardware (minus the 8 lan ports). The AC3100 has 4 lan ports and 1 wan.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only 2 diferences, the AC88U has red in the antenas and has 8 ports. The rest they are identical and that is why they are both called AC3100. The Asus AC88U-AC3100. One is called AC3100 Black ( due to the lac of red in the antenas. the other AC88U/AC3100 ( Which means the 8 ports and red antenas)
