This model comes with HDMI 2.1.

All the 7040 CPUs support HDMI 2.1 natively, so the OEM manufacturer would almost have to intentionally mal-design the HDMI interface to downgrade it from 2.1 to 2.0 between the chip and the port. That having been said, be well aware that the consortium that defines the HDMI standards has screwed things up to high heaven by defining HDMI 2.1 as a flexi standard. That is, there are different levels of "sub-features" within HDMI 2.1. That makes it such that makers of cheap TVs can say their TV is HDMI 2.1 even though it really does not have the specific 2.1 feature(s) that you actually need. I'm pretty sure Asus got it right tho, and monitor vendors are pretty honest. Just be wary when you buy your next TV that the TV manufacturers are out to getcha.
