Is this unit backward compatible with 802.11/g/n etc? null

Yes. I have multiple devices from b/g/n connected. The main wireless radio also gives you the option to combine the newer 5ghz SSID with the 2.4ghz SSID. So only one SSID is needed and shown available, though it covers both frequencies and all legacy wireless protocols.
