“When I try my f1-f12 keys they do not work such as when I try to lower the volume pressing f2 and f3 they seem to not work, am I able to fix this? If so what can I do?”

Make sure you hold the Function (Fn) key on the bottom left of the key board when trying to use the F keys. So to use the action that’s on the F3 key, you would hold Fn and than press F3 at the same time.
