“Hello, I have had a Asus Transformer TF101 for the last few years. There are no more upgrades available for it. My question is, is this model that much better than what I have or should I look for a better model? Thanks”

You should buy the new version. Unless you have a mac, all the updates are not available to you

Please try again later.The Fire is primarily designed for using and viewing stuff specifically purchased from Amazon.com - Kindle e-books, movies streamed or DLed from Amazon Video, etc. If you are okay with Amazon's somewhat more limited App store and/or plan on using it mostly for e-books and Amazon movies, this is a very good unit. If you are looking for a more general-purpose tablet for things like Word Processing, Gaming, etc, then this is probably not the unit for you.
