The AT&T expansion phone must have a base unit in the system from which it receives its signal. A phone jack is not used. The expansion phone can be placed anywhere in the house as long as there is an electrical outlet nearby. An electrical outlet is required to keep the expansion phone charged on its small charging base. I added two expansion phones (I already had a base phone) and they work perfectly. The link-up to the base phone is not intuitive, but the directions supplied with the expansion phones were clear enough for a luddite like me to complete the process.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This extension phone programs to the base unit so a wall plug is all you need.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just plug it in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it doesn't need a phone jack.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This just needs power. I was also pleasantly surprised that the handsets trade programming. Meaning I programmed many phone numbers into the directory on one phone and the remote handset was also programmed. It is nice to only have to enter them once.
