“What is the purpose of the keypad on the base unit? Since there is no handset for base what does the keypad do?”

• It will act as a speaker phone with no handset in the base. I thought it odd as but it’s a good quality phone setup.

• I assume it’s because you can talk and dial on the phone base with speaker on and not have to have the handset there.
