A:Answer The system has remote access, i.e. you can call your number and once it answers, you enter a two-digit code to retrieve any messages left on the system. I read through the answering-system portion of the direction booklet and there is no mention of a toll-saver feature. If this is important to you, you may be better off using your phone provider's voice mail service since there are usually multiple ways of accessing voice mail, e.g. phone, app, computer. I simply turn off the answering machine on any new phone I buy. It's just about impossible to find a cordless phone set without an answering system.
