The Atari VCS does not use physical media. Games are available for purchase through Atari's digital store. So far, games have ranged in price from $3.99 - $24.99 (a bargain!). In addition to Atari's offerings, users can access gaming content from services like Antstream Arcade, AirConsole and Stadia. You can also load another OS in PC Mode and access games on their native platforms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Doesn't sound like physical media will be a thing for this console. Atari has 100 games built in and they will offer additional games through AntArcade and Stadia. See details: https://atarivcs.com/games
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The AtariVCS is not a "console", so comparing it to a PS5 is not possible. The AtariVCS is a hybrid device capable of playing games in native mode that are available from the Atari Store, or booting an alternate operating system (Windows, Linux, etc.) of your choice to function as a PC capable of running games and business software, all in your living room. Running Windows, you have access to Steam, GOG, and EPIX, all of which offer AAA titles (many FOR FREE). Overall, a much better value than than a PlayStation or XBox.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not all systems like the PS5 offer all their bundles with games. They also offer just a hardware bundle without any games. So, don't go bashing something because it's not offering any games with the system.

Unlike other consoles that nail you for $500+ for the hardware then throw salt in your wounds with $50 plus games, Atari decided to make their console not only powerful but affordable and give you 100 classic games with it. Plus they have apps you can download thru their store as well as games. Their focus was a platform to get games to you from the independant publishers more than the overpriced fluff developers. Add to it that using the sandbox mode you can run Windows which gives you far more variety of games than the big three offer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does include the Atari Vault with 100 Atari Arcade and 2600 Games, but there are thousands of retro and modern games available. You can also literally play thousands of games free with the included Antstream Arcade. There are many modern games being released such as the new Atari Recharged series for less than $10 each. As well as a plethora of game-streaming services available natively; such as Antstream Arcade (offers over 1,000 titles for free) , AirConsole, GeForce Now, Luna, Stadia, & Xbox Live Streaming. Of course, you can also stream movies and shows through Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Plex and other native apps. Or, you can even be productive with native support for all of Google suite apps and Google Chrome built in. And all of this is all available without leaving the native Atari OS mode. However, the options are limitless as you can also boot to just about any other x86 based OS such as Windows making it a very serviceable small form factor PC.
