• The needle cartridge is included. There is space to hold an additional catridge for older 78 recordings at the rear of the dock.

• A cartridge with a needle is included. You have to install it yourself but that is easy with the provided instructions.

• It comes with a needle already installed in a "head" that you need to insert on the arm. That's a toolless connection so it's pretty easy. Follow the manual to get the balance right on the arm and it plays great. Don't try to do it without looking at the manual as you probably won't succeed :-).
