Typically when we hear this, the tracking force (stylus pressure) is incorrect (set way to heavy) as a result of the tonearm not being calibrated correctly (balanced and zeroed) prior to setting the tracking force during setup of the turntable. Go back and check this procedure per the instructions on page 6 of the Installation and Operation manual. Make certain that the counterweight on the rear of the tonearm is installed with the black stylus force gauge ring that is semi-attached to the front of the weight is facing forward (toward the user). If the weight was installed backwards (the ring is facing the back of the turntable, away from the user) it will not be possible to set the tracking force correctly. The acceptable tracking force range is from 1.5 to 2.5 grams.
