• Set the switch on the back of the turntable to use the built-in phono pre-amp.

• It sounds like your Pioneer amp doesn't have a built in phono amp. On the back of the turntable switch the switch to line to enable to built in phono amp.

• Do you have the phono preamp inside the turntable turned on? The preamp selector switch located on the rear of the turntable must be set to the LINE position when the AUX input on a receiver is used.
