A:AnswerThe august smart lock is mounted on the inside of your door. Nothing changes on the outside of your door so you can still use your key to get in. The batteries last about a year.
A:AnswerThe way this works is that you set up on your phone (1 access code, just for you). Then if you want to allow someone access to enter as much as they want, you enable it from your app on your phone, they then download the app and when they accept the invitation, they are allowed in. You can also allow someone access (say the cleaning crew) for just 1 day... and then they won't have access to open the door any more. Great idea.
A:AnswerIt does not, I've tried. If you do figure it out, please let me know. Or if they came out with a new one. This specific one does not work like that.
A:AnswerThe August Smart Lock is not compatible with the Amazon Echo.
I own an echo and that was one of the things I looked into getting my lock up and running.
A:AnswerYes. Each of you need to download the August app though. Have one initiate the programming and simply add the other user. Both can have administrative powers to change settings.
