I bought it as an audio solution. Although the one side is an A/V connection, the other side is a standard 3.5 audio connection, so unless you're trying to put sound from your TV to an external output device, this would not be a solution for you. Hope that helps.

You may need to get the operating manual out on both pieces of equipment and look at what connection on the 3.5mm male terminal is the audio and video connection. Ignore the color code and match that accordingly. Older AV equipment used a different configuration back in the day for audio and video color code on the RCA connector end. Hope this helps?
