Are they dust proof as well? null

I live in a dry, dusty desert and take these out running regularly. They have handled dust storms and just regular days in the Sonoran Desert. So yes, definitely dust proof.

Yes - they are dust and water resistant. Keep in mind, "proof" and "resistant" are two very different terms when it comes to the description of what the "IP" rating is. These are dust and water resistant, not dust and water proof. For how much these cost, I would throw down the extra $29 for AppleCare just in case.
