• There are heating elements in both top and bottom so both plates heat up. This is a GREAT contact grill. Plates pop out for easy cleaning and food cooks fast and perfectly. Cooks 1/3 pound frozen hamburgers to perfection in less than 10 minutes. Really pleased with this purchase. We will use this a lot.
