• Yes but you won't get that BBq flavor. I use Liquid Smoke to solve that problem!

• Yes. It functions like an outdoor grill and you can grill steak on it. However, this grill is not smokeless and I would never use it indoors. I do use in the garage with the door open. Also although rated a high wattage, it doesn't seem to get as hot as my previous old electric grill. Finally, it will take longer to cook than on a typical gas grill as there is no cover on it to keep the heat it. If you use a pot lid to cover the steak it solves the problem. Just be aware the lid will be hot when you remove it.
