“There is a thin plastic film on both sides of the antenna. Am I supposed to remove this first before using?”

• It looks like tabs to remove the film but I had trouble getting it started so left it on.

• No. You don’t need to remove that. It’s just so you can secure it down. A double side tape.

• The antenna will work just fine with or without the plastic film attached.
